Molly is a native of Buffalo NY. She was born in Buffalo in a middle income Catholic family and was one of six children. She moved to NYC in her early twenties and worked for Elizabeth Arden cosmetics overseeing the Bloomingdales, Third Avenue account for 14 years. She left to fulfill her love of cooking and attended Perter Kump’s Culinary School of NYC where she received a Blue Ribbon Award. She did an externship at the Intercontinental Hotel and after completing her obligation, she started her own catering company in NYC.
She returned back to her home town Buffalo in 2001 and began working for William Koesssler at the Park Lane Restaurant. She worked as the restaurant manager and moved into the catering department a short time later. She and Mr. Koessler expanded their operations and grew the business together. Mr. Koessler eventually sold the Park Lane Restaurant and purchased Acqua Restaurant and Banquets in 2011. Going forward, they invested in both their love for each other and their love for the city which they grew up in. They were married in 2011 and Molly continued her quest for the love of food and entertaining by acquiring additional properties over the next five years. Their portfolio includes some of Buffalo’s most prestigious properties including the Lafayette Hotel Ballrooms, The Foundry Suites Hotel and Banquet facility, The Hatch Restaurant, William K’s Restaurant and now, Molly’s on Main.
Entertaining has always been Molly’s forte. She has always been famous for her annual “Mollywood” parties which consisted of an abundance of food and drink , fabulous friends and festive celebration. Each year, the guest list grew in size and Mollywood became the social affair “not to miss”.
Molly’s dream became a reality in 2016 when the former Vitio’s in Fountain Plaza was available for rent. After great thought and ambition, Molly went to work creating what she thought was the perfect fit for the rejuvenation of downtown Buffalo. Researching menus,. Restaurant décor and finding the right employees soon created Molly’s on Main into a reality. Her love for people, entertaining and creative food and drink has made Molly’s on Main a destination. A vibrant culinary emporium where people can gather and food can be enjoyed.
